Eating to increase Testosterone
Testosterone which is a male sex hormone that is responsible for things such as bone and muscle health, sex drive, sperm production, and hair growth—testosterone is not something to be overlooked if you want to get that nice thick beard since you can also lose testosterone as you age. Vitamin D
The vitamin D is a nutrient that helps the body to absorb calcium and therefore is very important for the health of bones and immunes the system. Vitamin D is also linked to longer lifespan and testosterone production. Researchers found that low testosterone was linked with a vitamin D deficiency. So you might want to start looking for a supplementary intake in vitamin D.
Tuna
Whether canned or fresh, eating tuna is a natural way of boosting your testosterone. The tuna is a fish who is very rich in vitamin D, and it is also a heart-healthy protein-rich food that's low in calories. And if you are not a big fan of tuna, you can consider opting for other fishy sources of vitamin D, like salmon or sardines. But don't go too crazy on the fish, as consuming too many omega-3 fatty acids may increase your risk of prostate cancer.
Milk
Low-fat milk with vitamin D is a great source of protein and calcium. Just make sure that you choose a skim milk which is fortified with vitamin D and you're ready to go. We often recommend that women and children drink milk for better bone health, but it can also help keep men's bones strong too and boost testosterone.
Egg yolks
While not very appealing, egg yolks are a rich source of vitamin D and they are easy to take. While egg yolks contain more cholesterol than egg whites, egg yolks also contain more nutrients. And cholesterol may not be such a bad thing if you are looking to increase your T, since it has been linked to helping increasing testosterone. So, as long as you don't have preexisting cholesterol issues, you can safely eat one egg per day.
Oysters
Men who have a low testosterone benefit from taking zinc if they also have a zinc deficiency. Zinc is not only an essential nutrient during puberty, but also keep male hormones in check during thru adulthood. Oysters are very high sources of zinc, which may help increase your T.
Shellfish
Alaskan king crab comes out on top with 43 percent of your daily value of zinc in just a three-ounce serving. But if you don't have Alaskan king around, an occasional serving of any other variety of crab or lobster will do your testosterone levels some good. This is due in part to the high zinc content of seafood.
Beef
Beef liver is an exceptional source of vitamin D, and ground beef and chuck roast contain zinc. So yeah, beef can increase your T level, but there are health concerns about the overconsumption of red meat. Which can be linked to cancers. Choose lean cuts of beef and avoid eating it every day.
Beans
Black, white, and kidney beans are all considered sources of vitamin D and zinc. Baked beans also offer these nutrients, but you'll need additional sources in your daily diet. Beans offer many benefits to male hormone health and are full of plant-based proteins that protect heart health.
