Applying Beard Shampoo and Conditioner

The first thing on our list is the application of shampoo. You should always use your scalp (hair) shampoo on your head first when you get into the shower. The reason being that—when rinsing your hair, it will drip down into your beard. Therefore, by washing your beard after your hait—you will avoid spoiling your freshly washed beard.

Another very important thing to mention before we move on to ''How to apply beard shampoo''—do not wash your beard daily. It is best to wash your beard every 3 days or so. Washing your beard every day will strip it of natural essential oils.

How to Apply Beard Shampoo

Step 1

First, make sure to shake your beard wash bottle very well. Then, rub your beard shampoo or cleanser into your hands until you get a nice soapy lather—then rub into your beard. One thing you want to make sure is that you massage right down to the root of the follicle. This will ensure you to get rid off any dead skin that accumulated since you stopped to shave. If you have time—leave the shampoo in your beard for about 3 to 5 minutes. This will allow your skin and beard hair to really soak all the natural oils provided by the soap or shampoo.

Step 2

Rinse your beard out thoroughly with water by massaging all the way down to the roots.

How to Apply Beard Conditioner

Step 1

Like for the beard shampoo—make sure to shake well the conditioner bottle to ensure that all oils are properly mixed. Then, drop a penny sized amount of conditioner into your hands. Rub your beard conditioner into your hands until you get a nice soapy lather—then massage into your beard all the way down to the hair follicle.

Step 2

Rinse your beard out thoroughly with water by massaging all the way down to the roots and pat dry with a towel.

Applying Beard Oils, Balms & Butter

You just got out of the shower—your beard is clean and fresh. Then comes the time to apply beard oil or balm into your beard. At this time, your beard should be dry but slightly damp—time to moisturize and nourish those facial hairs of yours. Whatever if you are using beard oil, beard balm or beard butter—they do a very great job at moisturizing and penetrating deep right down to the core of the hair follicle. Those rebellious bristles don't stand a chance. Beard oil & balm comes handy to replenish the natural oils supply of your skin and beard brisltes—this way you will ensure that they stay soft and full of life.

How to Style your Moustache using Wax

After all those steps—if you wear a mustache—then it's time to style it! They are various techniques that can be used to style a moustache—but they all include the use of a moustache wax and a comb. With a strong hold mustache wax, some like to use a hair dryer to allow the mustache wax to melt in their stache. This technique allows for an easier manipulation of the wax. You will only need a very small amount of moustache wax, around the size of the head of a nail. Separate the wax equally to your two index finger and then create some friction by rubbing each index with your thumbs. This will allow the moustache wax to become more malleable. Then simply spread it into your moustache and form it to the desired style—curve the tips to create a handlebar for example.
