Grow and Groom a Stylized Beard

As mentioned above, the best thing to do—when you want to grow a beard—is storing razor and trimmer away and being patient. In fact, all bearded man worthy of a king is a man with a respectable patience. Patience is required since a beard is not measured by length, but by month(s). Some have a beard of one month, other have a beard of 3 months while other have a year beard or even a terminal beard—beard that reached it's maximum length according to your genetic.

Obviously, each beard length has his own challenges. From the outset (beardless), and this, until you reach the stage of a 2 weeks beard, your beard will be pretty itchy, uneven and generally shaggy. The beard is itchy during the first weeks since when we shaved it, we essentially create small spears on the tip of each hair. So—until the time that they are long enough and fold on themselves—they create an unpleasant tingling sensation. You will notice that this feeling is accentuated at the neck level because of the tilt and angle of the head.

At this Point : 3 Tips should be Applied

- First thing first, keeps your head up; this is only temporary, this uncomfortable tingling feeling will fade quickly

- To relieve beard itching, we suggest to use ample amounts of moisturizer like beard oil, or any other such product. Try to avoid those with alcohol-based; they may dry out your skin.

- Finally, during the thatch phase (first two days), we suggest to apply a softener on tips of the hairs of your beard. This type of product makes your beard hairs softer and less prickly when you kiss your wife.

During the first two weeks of growth, you should not use beard shampoo—since the beard is still too short. To clean it, we suggest using a natural beard soap bar that contains no chemical irritant like sodium sulfate. A multitude of choices is available to you regarding natural beard soap bars.

Once the itching phase is ended—after 3 to 4 weeks of growth—your beard will have a rather messy look. Those wishing to have a beard with a natural look will continue to let it grow without ever touching it. For others wishing to have a nice clean cut and well-defined beard—we suggest to cut it at the neck, cheekbones and above the upper lip (mustache) level.

When it comes time to give some style and sculpt his beard, the margin of error with the razor is indeed present. Sometimes you are too ambitious and—without doing it on purpose—you remove more hair than desired. In this case, many people would be tempted to shave everything and start over. Since the process is long and laborious, we suggest waiting about 1 month before making any trims or cuts in your beard.

At this stage, beginners—those who grow beards for the first time—tend to make their neck line too high. The ideal location to create the neck line is where your neck meets your head. In other words, the entire hair region which is parallel to the ground should not be touched while the whole hair region which is parallel with the world in front of you should be cut.

When defining the neck line, you should not look to make a perfect curve from one ear to the other and you should not try to look upward—You must follow the lines of your face—where the neck and head meets.

Once the line at the neck level is well-defined, comes time to cut the mustache. To do this, we suggest to use scissors for a maximum control rather than use a trimmer. Thus, you greatly decrease the risk of error, and only cut some hair at a time. When you cut the mustache with scissors—you should disengage from 1 to 3 mm—depending on your style—above your upper lip. Regarding the lines of the cheeks, you still should follow your natural lines and only cut some hairs that are on the other side of it—If the hairs on your cheeks are very thick, you should not cut them lower than the bottom of your nose.

Regarding beard's grooming and cleaning, it is strongly suggested to rinse it thoroughly under the shower and apply beard oil—after a month of growth—on a daily basis. To clean it, after the first month of growth, in addition to the daily rinsing and application of beard oil, we suggest using a beard shampoo from 1 to 2 times a week.

After about 2 months of growth, your beard will start taking sometimes wacky paces—This is where the real fun begins—The time when you had a perfectly trimmed and neat beard is gone. At this stage, you now sport a natural beard. You will see the bristles of your beard begun curly and wavy. Therefore, combing your beard and apply beard oil on a daily basis becomes capital.

After the third months of growth, you should wash your beard with a beard shampoo, once a week or as needed. Nevertheless, the daily rinsing and beard oil application should never be overlooked—At this point, you should cut the aberrant or too long facial hair with scissors to avoid mistakes.

To avoid mistakes—which could lead you to commit the unthinkable—don't touch your beard when you are depressed or when you are under the influence of alcohol. If ever an unhealthy envy going through your mind and mad temptations invades you and would lead you to think to slave away or shave your beard—remember an unwritten rule which states that you must take the time to think well about it before taking a decision—Each month of growth equals 1 day of questioning about shaving your beard. Thus said, if you have a 6 months beard, you will challenge yourself for a week before committing the irreparable.

When your beard has reached a good length, the use of a blow dryer and a beard comb—after rinsing— allows it to have a luscious and straight look. Drying your beard with medium heat  should be done from neck to chin (bottom to top) to give it more volume. If you use stylizing products such as beard balm and beard oil, we suggest to apply them after you used a blow dryer but when your beard is still wet.

Once your beard is dry, use your blow dryer on low temperature and a beard comb and do the opposite action—Dry, comb and brush your beard from the top to the bottom to naturally straightened the bristles of your beard as desired.

Beards allow you to define your style—They can take different forms depending on what you wish—However, we strongly recommend to choose a style that you can proudly sport—according to your head's shape. Plus, it can happen that because of your genetic that certain styles are simply impossible to develop. Thus said, opt for a beard style that fits with your genetic and your head's shape.

The Beard Growth in Relation with the Physical

Well understood, your beard's growing potential is directly related to your genetic—Some have low hairiness while others have stronger hairiness—Further, bad habits such as stress, poor diet or physical damage can also affect the growing potential of your beard.

First of all, we've all heard that shaving his beard allowed it to push faster. Well think it again—this is a simple urban legend—Don't fall into the trap—Patience is required, shaving his beard will never make it grow faster.

Tips to Promote the Beard Growth

The first advice is dedicated to those who have an imperfect diet and a high-stress level. In order to achieve a balance and to fill the gaps in your diet—to allow your beard to grow at is maximum—we strongly recommend to ingest dietary supplements as multi-vitamins, biotin (vitamin B7), vitamin B (vitamin B6), magnesium, zinc and fish oil.

A second key element that stimulates the growth of your beard is the testosterone. To get his daily intake of testosterone, it is recommended to eat red meat, spinach, nuts, avocados, olives, broccoli, olive oil and avoid soybean-based food products. Finally, again to boost his testosterone, lifting weights proves to be an excellent tip—Deadlift and squat are two muscle exercises known to stimulate your testosterone levels.

Once balance is reached—a good source of dietary supplement and an excellent testosterone level—your beard will now only ask for some love. Thus said, you should take good care of it with appropriate beard grooming products and cherish it as it deserves. The broken tips that you will replace with a beard comb or imperfections that you'll correct with scissor will boost it to push in the desired way.

Finally, the success key to obtain the beard of your dreams is PATIENCE. The process is long and is tedious but once you get the desired beard—you'll certainly make turn the heads.

The beard growth in relation with the psychology

The bulky and recurring aspect for people who grow a beard for the first time is the reaction of those around them—People will surely judge you or pass positive or negative comments about your beard—You have to learn to juggle with them and being proud to sport your badass beard. Think about it, if you were alone in the desert, nobody would judge you on your style changing. Obviously, this is not the case—people near you will all have their own reactions. Be proud of your goals and of who you are. Don't be afraid to ask the support of your loved ones during this transformation. If people ask you questions or pass comments about your beard, be proud to answer them—"Hell Yeah", "I'll have a beard of hell."—Also, remember this popular sentence—"Haters gonna hate."—Don't worry with those who are unkind toward you, they are probably just jealous of your patience and of course of your king's mane. In life, we can not please everyone, the important thing is that you are happy with the beard you've always dreamed of.
